This video is about the importance of having a back up plan or an ‘exit plan’, if you want to call it that, in case for any reason you feel like the overseas life is not cutting it for you. With the unpredictable life of an overseas player, one runs into MANY problems. With females especially, there is no guarantee of payment on time or at all for that matter. So if you have month to month bills and your starting out as an overseas athlete, I hope you have a lil cushion in your bank account because 3 out of 5 times, I bet your not getting your money on time.
Unless you’ve been in the WNBA, just recognize what your getting yourself into. When you become an athlete overseas, your starting completely over. Your officially a freshman again and that ladder to get up to a sustaining bank account to where you can live on takes a lot of time and patience. I’m a post player and its easier for a post to get an offer than a guard because there are less of us to go around and to choose from. Just know that when you first go overseas, you probably wont be making a lot of money off the bat.
Here’s a video where I get into more details about the life overseas and please don’t hesitate to ask any questions.
